Help people build everyday skills, gain confidence, and pursue their goals.
Mental Health Associate roles give you the chance to work directly with people and support progress in their daily lives. You will work alongside mental health professionals and help people build practical and social skills. Your support can help someone manage everyday tasks, find the services they need, and become more independent.
What might your day look like?
You may work one-on-one with someone or lead a group session. You could help someone manage medications, shop for groceries, keep appointments, build social skills, or communicate more confidently.
You may also help someone find housing, food assistance, benefits, or health services. Depending on the role, you could help with crisis and safety planning. You will work closely with mental health professionals and receive regular guidance and support.
Where could you work?
Much of your work may take place in the community. You could support people in their homes, licensed care settings, hospitals, jails, schools, or other community locations. Working in different settings gives you the chance to meet people where they are and provide practical support based on their needs.
